Terms Used In Tennessee Code 47-25-1215

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Customer: includes any person, firm, corporation, or other entity that is solicited by, inquires about or seeks the services of, or enters into a contract for invention development services with, an invention developer, except:
    (A) Any department or agency of the federal, state, or local government. See Tennessee Code 47-25-1201
  • Invention: means :
    (A) An invention. See Tennessee Code 47-25-1201
  • Invention development services: includes acts required or promised to be performed, or actually performed, or both, by an invention developer for a customer. See Tennessee Code 47-25-1201
  • written: includes printing, typewriting, engraving, lithography, and any other mode of representing words and letters. See Tennessee Code 1-3-105

With respect to each and every contract for invention development services, the invention developer shall deliver to the customer at the address specified in the contract, at quarterly intervals throughout the term of the contract, a written statement of the services performed to date; provided, that the first such statement need not be delivered until one hundred eighty (180) days after the contract is executed.
