The board may procure the property and liability insurance coverages required by the United States to protect it and its agencies against the possibility of loss or liability in connection with property owned by the United States and loaned to the system pursuant to the provisions of the National Industrial Reserve Act of 1948, 50 U.S.C. Secs. 451-462.
