Terms Used In Texas Election Code 242.004
- Legislative session: That part of a chamber's daily session in which it considers legislative business (bills, resolutions, and actions related thereto).
- Special election: means an election that is not a general election or a primary election. See Texas Election Code 1.005
The time intervals for conducting a special election to fill a vacancy in the office of state senator or state representative occurring during a regular legislative session apply to any election necessary under the judgment in an election contest under this chapter.
