(a) “Person” includes a natural person and a corporation.
(b) Except as otherwise provided by this code, the definition of “person” assigned by § 311.005, Government Code, does not apply to any provision in this code.

- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
