Terms Used In Texas Finance Code 157.025
- Mortgage: The written agreement pledging property to a creditor as collateral for a loan.
- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
- Restitution: The court-ordered payment of money by the defendant to the victim for damages caused by the criminal action.
The commissioner may order a residential mortgage loan originator to make restitution for any amount received by that person in violation of this chapter or Chapter 156.
