(a) The corporation shall hire an independent certified public accountant to audit the corporation’s books and accounts for each fiscal year. The corporation shall file a copy of the audit with the department and shall submit the audit report to the governor, lieutenant governor, speaker of the house of representatives, comptroller, Bond Review Board, and State Auditor’s Office not later than the 30th day after the submission date established in the General Appropriations Act for the annual financial report.
(b) The corporation is subject to audit by the state auditor.

  • Comptroller: means the state comptroller of public accounts. See Texas Government Code 312.011
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.

(c) The corporation shall submit budget and financial information to the legislative budget office as required by the director of the legislative budget office.
