- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Probate: Proving a will
The County Court of Bowie County has the general jurisdiction of a probate court and juvenile jurisdiction as provided by § 26.042(b) but has no other civil or criminal jurisdiction.
Without reference to the 1985 repeal of V.T.C.S. Art. 1970-306, from which this section was derived, that article was also amended by Sec. 42, Ch. 159, Acts 69th Leg., 1985.
