  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

The department or commission, in matters under its jurisdiction, with the approval of the governor, may enter into an agreement with the federal government, another state, or an interstate agency under which the state, in cooperation with the other parties to the agreement, performs inspections or other functions relating to the control of sources of radiation.
