(a) The comprehensive rehabilitation account is an account in the general revenue fund. Money in the account is derived from court costs collected under § 133.102, Local Government Code. Money in the account may be appropriated only to the department for the purposes provided by § 111.052.
(b) The comptroller, on requisition by the department, shall draw a warrant on the account for the amount specified in that requisition for a use authorized in § 111.052, except that the total of warrants issued during a state fiscal year may not exceed the amount appropriated for that fiscal year. At the end of each state fiscal year, the comptroller shall transfer to the general revenue fund any unexpended balance in the comprehensive rehabilitation account that exceeds $1.5 million.

  • Comptroller: means the state comptroller of public accounts. See Texas Government Code 312.011
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • Year: means 12 consecutive months. See Texas Government Code 311.005

(c) The court costs remitted to the comptroller and deposited in the general revenue fund pursuant to this section are dedicated to the department.
