Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 143.201
- Municipality: means a general-law municipality, home-rule municipality, or special-law municipality. See Texas Local Government Code 1.005
- Population: means the population shown by the most recent federal decennial census. See Texas Government Code 311.005
This subchapter applies only to a municipality with a population of 1.5 million or more, but does not apply to a municipality that has adopted The Fire and Police Employee Relations Act (Article 5154c-1, Vernon’s Texas Civil Statutes).
