Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 9.001
- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
- Municipality: means a general-law municipality, home-rule municipality, or special-law municipality. See Texas Local Government Code 1.005
This chapter applies to the adoption or amendment of a municipal charter by a municipality authorized to do so by Article XI, § 5, of the Texas Constitution.
