Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 9.0015
- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
- Municipality: means a general-law municipality, home-rule municipality, or special-law municipality. See Texas Local Government Code 1.005
- Rule: includes regulation. See Texas Government Code 311.005
In this chapter, “climate charter” means a charter provision or charter amendment establishing a comprehensive rule or policy statement that purports to address climate change or the municipality‘s environmental impact, including water and energy use and air pollution.
