Terms Used In Texas Special District Local Laws Code 3831.001

  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
  • Property: means real and personal property. See Texas Government Code 311.005

In this chapter:
(1) “Board” means the board of directors of the district.
(2) “City council” means the governing body of the City of Temple.
(3) “Director” means a board member.
(4) “District” means the Temple Health and Bioscience Economic Development District.
(5) “Obligation” means an interest-bearing obligation issued by the district under this chapter, including a bond, certificate, note, or other evidence of indebtedness.
(6) “Project” means a project established under § 3831.111 and includes the land, buildings, equipment, facilities, infrastructure, improvements, and other property necessary to accomplish the purposes of the project.
