Terms Used In Texas Special District Local Laws Code 3943.0305
- Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
- Population: means the population shown by the most recent federal decennial census. See Texas Government Code 311.005
The district may, as if the district were a home-rule municipality with a population of more than 100,000:
(1) issue bonds and lease, acquire, or construct a building or facility as provided by Subchapter A, Chapter 1509, Government Code; and
(2) establish and administer a program as provided by § 380.002, Local Government Code.
