(1) |
An operational permit is required for the use of any quantity of explosives or explosive materials for the purpose of blasting. |
Terms Used In Utah Code 15A-5-208
- Division: means the State Fire Marshal Division created in Section 53-7-103. See Utah Code 15A-5-102
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5

The State Fire Marshal Division shall issue blasting permits:
(a) |
for those locations where the local fire department that has jurisdiction of the location of the blast does not have a procedure in place for issuing blasting permits; and |
(b) |
for multiple blasting activities that are part of one project and that involve conducting blasts in the jurisdictions of more than one fire department. |
