| (1) |
The department shall be responsible for the administration and operation of state veterans nursing homes established by the Legislature, which may include contracting with a private health care provider to operate and manage each home. |
Terms Used In Utah Code 71A-6-102
- Department: means the Department of Veterans and Military Affairs. See Utah Code 71A-1-101
- Home: means any state veterans nursing home. See Utah Code 71A-6-101
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5

Each home shall:
| (a) |
have at least an 80-bed capacity; |
| (b) |
be designed and constructed consistent with the requirements for federal funding under 38 U.S.C. § 8131 et seq.; and |
| (c) |
be operated consistent with the requirements for per diem payments from the VA under 38 U.S.C. § 1741 et seq. |
