Terms Used In Washington Code > Chapter 74.38 - Senior citizens services act

  • Area agency: means an agency, other than a state agency, designated by the department to carry out programs or services approved by the department in a designated geographical area of the state. See Washington Code 74.38.020
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Department: means the department of social and health services. See Washington Code 74.38.020
  • Eligible persons: means senior citizens who are:

  • Office: shall mean the office on aging which is the organizational unit within the department responsible for coordinating and administering aging problems. See Washington Code 74.38.020
  • person: may be construed to include the United States, this state, or any state or territory, or any public or private corporation or limited liability company, as well as an individual. See Washington Code 1.16.080
