As used in sections 253.150 to 253.170 the following terms shall have, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, the following meanings:
(1) “Motor vehicle”, any self-propelled vehicle not operated exclusively upon tracks, except farm tractors;

- Department: the department of natural resources. See Missouri Laws 253.010
- following: when used by way of reference to any section of the statutes, mean the section next preceding or next following that in which the reference is made, unless some other section is expressly designated in the reference. See Missouri Laws 1.020
- Park: any land, site or object primarily of recreational value or of cultural value because of its scenic, historic, prehistoric, archeologic, scientific, or other distinctive characteristics or natural features. See Missouri Laws 253.010
- State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020
(2) “Park thoroughfares”, any state park road, intended for use by the general public and designated as such by the department of natural resources.
