Every three years, the Oregon Health Authority shall:

  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • Medical assistance: includes any care or services for any individual who is a patient in a medical institution or any care or services for any individual who has attained 65 years of age or is under 22 years of age, and who is a patient in a private or public institution for mental diseases. See Oregon Statutes 414.025

(1) Conduct a survey of retail pharmacy providers that are enrolled as Medicaid providers in the state medical assistance program to determine the costs of the providers for dispensing prescription drugs; and

(2) If the survey indicates a change is needed in the professional dispensing fee reimbursement, submit to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services a request for a state plan amendment to change the professional dispensing fee reimbursement, as provided in 42 C.F.R. § 447.518(d).
