  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Month: means a calendar month. See Texas Government Code 312.011

On or before the fifth day of each month, each jail under the commission’s jurisdiction shall submit to the commission a report containing the number of licensed jailers who left employment at the jail during the previous month. The commission shall prescribe a form for the report required by this section.
