Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 361.061
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Municipality: means a general-law municipality, home-rule municipality, or special-law municipality. See Texas Local Government Code 1.005
The governing body of a municipality may contract with a private vendor or a county to provide for the financing, design, construction, leasing, operation, purchase, maintenance, or management of a jail, detention center, work camp, or related facility.
