Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 14.30.650

  • department: means the Department of Education and Early Development. See Alaska Statutes 14.60.010
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060

Each fiscal year, the department shall allocate to the agency not less than $23.13 times the number of students in the state in average daily membership in the preceding fiscal year as determined under Alaska Stat. § 14.17.600. Money to carry out the provisions of this section may be appropriated annually by the legislature. If amounts are insufficient to meet the allocation authorized under this section for a fiscal year, the allocation shall be reduced pro rata.
