  • Action: means an action for partition under this title. See California Education Code 18703
  • assessment: as used in this chapter , shall have the same meaning as the term "evaluation" in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, as provided in Section 1414 of Title 20 of the United States Code. See California Education Code 56302.5
  • Authority: means the Capitol Area Development Authority created by the joint powers agreement executed pursuant to Section 8169. See California Government Code 12438.1
  • Authority: means the California Educational Facilities Authority created by this chapter or any board, body, commission, department, or officer succeeding to the principal functions of the authority or to whom the power conferred upon the authority by this chapter is given by law. See California Education Code 94110
  • bioanalyst: means a person licensed under Section 1260 to engage in clinical laboratory practice and direction of a clinical laboratory. See California Education Code 56362
  • clinical laboratory scientist: means any person, other than a licensed clinical laboratory bioanalyst or trainee, who is licensed under Sections 1261 and 1262 to engage in clinical laboratory practice under the overall operation and administration of a laboratory director, unless serving as a director of a waived laboratory as provided in Section 1209.   • Contractor: means the department, division, or other unit of a person or organization responsible for the performance under the contract. See California Government Code 12500
  • Controlled substance: means a controlled substance in schedules I through V of Section 202 of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U. See California Government Code 12500
  • department: means the State Department of Public Health. See California Education Code 56361.2
  • designated instruction and services: means "related services" as that term is defined in Section 1401(26) of Title 20 of the United States Code and Section 300. See California Education Code 56363
  • Drug-free workplace: means a site for the performance of work done in connection with a specific grant or contract described in Article 2 (commencing with Section 8355) of an entity at which employees of the entity are prohibited from engaging in the unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensation, possession, or use of a controlled substance in accordance with the requirements of this chapter. See California Government Code 12500
  • Employee: means the employee of a grantee or contractor directly engaged in the performance of work pursuant to the grant or contract described in Article 2 (commencing with Section 8355) . See California Government Code 12500
  • Foreign country: means a government other than any of the following:

    California Government Code 12527.5

  • Foreign-country judgment: means a judgment of a court of a foreign country. See California Government Code 12527.5
  • Foster family home: includes a small family home as defined in paragraph (6) of subdivision (a) of Section 1502 of the Health and Safety Code, a certified family home of a foster family agency as defined in Section 1506 of the Health and Safety Code, and a resource family as defined in Section 1517 of the Health and Safety Code and Section 16519. See California Education Code 56155.5
  • Grantee: means the department, division, or other unit of a person or organization responsible for the performance under the grant. See California Government Code 12500
  • Judgment creditor: means the person or persons who can bring an action to enforce a sister state judgment. See California Government Code 12517
  • Judgment debtor: means the person or persons against whom an action to enforce a sister state judgment can be brought. See California Government Code 12517
  • laboratory director: means any person who is any of the following:

    California Education Code 56364.1

  • Lien: means a mortgage, deed of trust, or other security interest in property whether arising from contract, statute, common law, or equity. See California Education Code 18703
  • Owner: means any person, including his or her legal representative, who has or had a legal or equitable interest in unclaimed property. See California Government Code 12461.1
  • person: includes firm, association, partnership, individual, limited liability company, and corporation. See California Education Code 56361
  • Person: includes any individual, partnership, corporation, limited liability company, unincorporated association, or other legal entity. See California Government Code 12461.1
  • Project: means a dormitory or an educational facility, faculty or staff housing, or any combination thereof, or any function concerning student loans, or interests in student loans, as determined by the authority. See California Education Code 94110
  • Project area: includes both of the following:

    California Government Code 12438.1

  • Property: includes real and personal property. See California Education Code 18703
  • Redevelopment plan: means the Capitol Area Plan approved by the Director of General Services on March 15, 1977, and referred to in Section 8160, and the plan prepared pursuant to Section 8182. See California Government Code 12438.1
  • related services: means transportation, and such developmental, corrective, and other supportive services (including speech-language pathology and audiology services, interpreting services, psychological services, physical and occupational therapy, recreation, including therapeutic recreation, social work services, school nurse services designed to enable an individual with exceptional needs to receive a free appropriate public education as described in the individualized education program of the child, counseling services, including rehabilitation counseling, orientation, and mobility services, and medical services, except that such medical services shall be for diagnostic and evaluation purposes only) as may be required to assist an individual with exceptional needs to benefit from special education, and includes the early identification and assessment of disabling conditions in children.   • Sister state judgment: means that part of any judgment, decree, or order of a court of a state of the United States, other than California, which requires the payment of money, but does not include a support order as defined in Section 155 of the Family Code. See California Government Code 12517
  • trainee: means any person licensed under this chapter for the purpose of receiving comprehensive practical experience and instruction in clinical laboratory procedures in one of the sciences or in general clinical laboratory science under the direct and responsible supervision of a person authorized to direct a laboratory under the provisions of this chapter, clinical laboratory scientist, clinical chemist scientist, clinical microbiologist scientist, clinical toxicologist scientist, clinical immunohematologist scientist, clinical genetic molecular biologist scientist, clinical cytogeneticist scientist, clinical histocompatibility scientist, or other equivalent licensee in the science or specialty or subspecialty for which he or she is licensed in a clinical laboratory certified for this purpose by the department under this chapter.   • Unclaimed property: means any tangible personal property or intangible personal property, including choses in action in amounts certain, and all debts owed or entrusted funds or other property held by any federal agency or any officer or employee thereof, whether occasioned by contract or operation of law or otherwise, except bonuses and gratuities, which has remained unclaimed by the owner for:
