Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 305 ILCS 5/11-17

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     Except (1) for Medical Assistance provided under Article V, or (2) when necessary to accomplish the purposes of this Code, where not inconsistent therewith, and subject to the rules of the Illinois Department, a person receiving aid under any one of Articles III, IV, or VI of this Code shall not at the same time receive aid under any other of such Articles or any other financial aid from the State, any political subdivision thereof, or any municipal corporation therein.
