Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 305 ILCS 5/11-8.6

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
     A decision on appeal shall be given to the interested parties within 90 days from the date of the filing of the appeal, unless additional time is required for a proper disposition of the appeal. All decisions on appeals shall be binding upon and complied with by the County Departments and local governmental units.
