Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 19-4602

  • Board: means a hospital board which is selected in accordance with the provisions of this act and which is vested with the management and control of a county hospital;

    (b) "commission" means the board of county commissioners of any county;

    (c) "hospital" means a medical care facility as defined in Kan. See Kansas Statutes 19-4601

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

(a) Any existing county hospital established under the laws of this state prior to the effective date of this act is hereby continued in existence and shall be governed in accordance with the provisions of this act and any existing hospital board shall be deemed to be the board for purposes of this act unless and until a new board is appointed or elected as provided in this act.

(b) This act shall not affect any judicial proceeding pending or any contract, tax levy, bond issuance or other legal obligation existing on the effective date of this act.
