  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

If a county hospital is located in a city, the jurisdiction of the city in which the hospital is located shall extend over all lands used for hospital purposes, and all ordinances of such city shall be in full force and effect in and over the territory occupied by such county hospital.
