If a question of existence or exercise of jurisdiction under KRS § 403.800 to KRS § 403.880 is raised in a child custody proceeding, the question, upon request of a party, shall be given priority on the calendar and handled expeditiously.

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
