  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories.     (1) Except as provided in subsection (2), by July 1 of each odd-numbered year the intermediate school board shall prepare and publish a map of the intermediate school district showing by district lines the boundaries of each constituent district and shall submit a copy of the map to the clerk of each township and city located in the intermediate school district, to the secretary of each constituent district, and to the secretary of state. In the period intervening between publication dates, the intermediate school board shall report each boundary change to the principal officers of the affected municipalities and townships and the secretary of state.
    (2) An intermediate school board is not required to prepare or submit a new map of the intermediate school district if the boundaries of its constituent districts have not changed since the last submission.
