  • Concurrent resolution: A legislative measure, designated "S. Con. Res." and numbered consecutively upon introduction, generally employed to address the sentiments of both chambers, to deal with issues or matters affecting both houses, such as a concurrent budget resolution, or to create a temporary joint committee. Concurrent resolutions are not submitted to the President/Governor and thus do not have the force of law.
   The department of education shall promulgate, prior to the effective date of this act, rules to implement this act in accordance with the provisions of Act No. 88 of the Public Acts of 1943, as amended, being section 24.71 to 24.80 of the Compiled Laws of 1948, and subject to Act No. 197 of the Public Acts of 1952, as amended, being section 24.101 to 24.110 of the Compiled Laws of 1948, but such rules shall not become effective until approved by concurrent resolution of the legislature.
