Terms Used In Missouri Laws 302.200
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- License: a license issued by a state to a person which authorizes a person to operate a motor vehicle. See Missouri Laws 302.010
- Motor vehicle: any self-propelled vehicle not operated exclusively upon tracks except motorized bicycles, as defined in section 307. See Missouri Laws 302.010
- Nonresident: every person who is not a resident of this state. See Missouri Laws 302.010
- person: may extend and be applied to bodies politic and corporate, and to partnerships and other unincorporated associations. See Missouri Laws 1.020
- State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020
- Vehicle: any mechanical device on wheels, designed primarily for use, or used on highways, except motorized bicycles, electric bicycles, vehicles propelled or drawn by horses or human power, or vehicles used exclusively on fixed rails or tracks, or cotton trailers or motorized wheelchairs operated by handicapped persons. Any resident or nonresident whose license, right or privilege to operate a motor vehicle in this state has been suspended or revoked as provided in sections 302.010 to 302.540 shall not operate a motor vehicle in this state under a license, permit or registration certificate issued by any other jurisdiction or otherwise during such suspension or after such revocation until a new license is obtained when and as permitted under sections 302.010 to 302.540. Violation of any provision of this section is a misdemeanor and on conviction therefor a person shall be punished as prescribed by section 302.321.
