Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 40:14B-50

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. In order to carry out and effectuate its purposes, any municipal authority, subject to its contracts with the holders of any bonds, is hereby empowered to provide, construct, maintain and operate facilities for the treatment and disposal of industrial wastes originating within or without the district and to enter into a contract or contracts with any person on such terms and conditions as such contract or contracts may contain, providing for or relating to the treatment and disposal of any such industrial wastes. The municipal authority and such person are hereby authorized and directed to do and perform any and all acts or things necessary, convenient or desirable to carry out and perform every such contract and to provide for the payment or discharge of any obligation thereunder in the same manner as other obligations of such municipal authority or person.
