Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 40:48-9.12

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
Any municipality may expend public funds received by the municipality under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, 42 U.S.C. §§ 53035317 (1974), as amended, for, or in aid of, the preservation, restoration, improvement, or rehabilitation of a historic place or site owned by a nonprofit corporation or association organized pursuant to Title 15 or 16 of the Revised Statutes, if the historic place or site has been approved for inclusion in the New Jersey Register of Historic Places in the Division of Parks, Forestry and Recreation of the Department of Environmental Protection under P.L.1970, c. 268 (C. 13:1B-15.128 et seq.).
