Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 5:12-123

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. Continuing Offenses. a. A violation of any of the provisions of this act which is an offense of a continuing nature shall be deemed to be a separate offense on each day during which it occurs. Nothing herein shall be deemed to preclude the commission of multiple violations within a day of those provisions of this act which establish offenses consisting of separate and distinct acts.

b. Any person who aids, abets, counsels, commands, induces, procures or causes another to violate a provision of this act is punishable as a principal and subject to all sanctions and penalties, both civil and criminal, provided by this act.
