Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 5:7-8
- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. No person shall operate or conduct any motor vehicle races or exhibitions of motor vehicle driving skill, or any track or other place for the holding of such races or exhibitions, unless a license to operate and conduct the same shall be first obtained from the Department of Law and Public Safety, which license said department may, in its discretion, issue to any applicant therefor upon compliance with the provisions of this act and the rules and regulations issued pursuant thereto, and the payment of a fee of one hundred dollars ($100.00) in the manner hereinafter provided.
