The state medical board may adopt any rules necessary to govern the practice of oriental medicine, the practice of acupuncture, the supervisory relationship between oriental medicine practitioners or acupuncturists and supervising physicians, the use of herbal therapy by oriental medicine practitioners, and the administration and enforcement of this chapter. Rules adopted under this section shall be adopted in accordance with Chapter 119 of the Revised Code.

  • Acupuncture: means a form of health care performed by the insertion and removal of specialized needles, with or without the use of supplemental techniques, to specific areas of the human body. See Ohio Code 4762.01
  • Herbal therapy: means the use of foods, herbs, vitamins, minerals, organ extracts, and homeopathy. See Ohio Code 4762.01
  • Oriental medicine: means a form of health care in which acupuncture is performed with or without the use of herbal therapy. See Ohio Code 4762.01
  • state: means the state of Ohio. See Ohio Code 1.59
