Terms Used In South Carolina Code 6-10-60

  • building: includes manufactured buildings but not manufactured housing or buildings heated to less than fifty degrees Fahrenheit. See South Carolina Code 6-10-20
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
Each local jurisdiction may establish a schedule of fees for the functions performed by the building inspection department in connection with the enforcement of this chapter.
