Terms Used In Tennessee Code 47-18-114

  • Attorney general: means the attorney general and reporter, or the attorney general and reporter's designee. See Tennessee Code 47-18-103
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

The attorney general may bring any appropriate action or proceeding in any court of competent jurisdiction pursuant to this part.
