Terms Used In Texas Government Code 1504.258

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005

A municipality may spend money derived from the portion of the mixed beverage tax receipts authorized to be pledged under § 1504.256 for:
(1) advertising and promotion of events to take place in a cultural facility described by § 1504.252;
(2) the attraction of events to a cultural facility described by § 1504.252, either by the municipality or through a contract with a person or organization selected by the municipality; and
(3) the encouragement, promotion, improvement, and application of the cultural arts, including opera, ballet, symphony, and theater, and the arts related to the presentation, performance, execution, and exhibition of those major art forms.
