Terms Used In Texas Insurance Code 1301.163
- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
This subchapter applies to a person to whom an insurer contracts to:
(1) process or pay claims;
(2) obtain the services of physicians or other providers to provide health care services to enrollees; or
(3) issue verifications or preauthorizations.
