Terms Used In Texas Local Government Code 351.104

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.

A private vendor operating under a contract authorized by § 351.102 is not entitled to claim sovereign immunity in a suit arising from the services performed under the contract by the private vendor. However, this section does not deprive the private vendor or the county of any benefits of any law limiting exposure to liability, setting a limit on damages, or establishing defenses to liability.
