(a) To be qualified to serve as a director, a person must be:
(1) an owner of real property in the district; or
(2) an employee of a person described by Subdivision (1).
(b) § 49.052, Water Code, does not apply to the district.
Terms Used In Texas Special District Local Laws Code 3897.053
- Person: includes corporation, organization, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, and any other legal entity. See Texas Government Code 311.005
- Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
