  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Presiding officer: A majority-party Senator who presides over the Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing Members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.
  • Year: means 12 consecutive months. See Texas Government Code 311.005

An authority required by § 451.454 to contract for a performance audit shall, before February 1 of every second odd-numbered year, deliver a copy of each audit report and of the authority’s response to the report to:
(1) the governor;
(2) the lieutenant governor;
(3) the speaker of the house of representatives;
(4) each member of the legislature whose district includes territory in the authority;
(5) the state auditor;
(6) the county judge of each county having territory in the authority; and
(7) the presiding officer of the governing body of each municipality having territory in the authority.
