Terms Used In Texas Transportation Code 452.457

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • Presiding officer: A majority-party Senator who presides over the Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing Members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.
  • Year: means 12 consecutive months. See Texas Government Code 311.005

An authority required by § 452.454 to contract for a performance audit shall, before February 1 of the year after the fiscal year in which the performance audit is conducted, deliver a copy of each performance audit report and of the authority’s response to the report to:
(1) the governor;
(2) the lieutenant governor;
(3) the speaker of the house of representatives;
(4) each member of the legislature whose district includes territory in the authority;
(5) the state auditor;
(6) the county judge of each county having territory in the authority; and
(7) the presiding officer of the governing body of each municipality having territory in the authority.
