9-6-302. Arts board powers and duties.
(1) |
The arts board may:
Terms Used In Utah Code 9-6-302- Arts: means the various branches of creative human activity, including visual arts, film, performing arts, sculpture, literature, music, theater, dance, digital arts, video-game arts, and cultural vitality. See Utah Code 9-6-102
- Arts board: means the Utah Arts Advisory Board created in Section 9-6-301. See Utah Code 9-6-102
- Director: means the director of the Division of Arts and Museums. See Utah Code 9-6-102
- Division: means the Division of Arts and Museums. See Utah Code 9-6-102
- Property: includes both real and personal property. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes a state, district, or territory of the United States. See Utah Code 68-3-12.5
(a) |
with the concurrence of the director, make rules governing the conduct of the arts board‘s business in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act; and |
(b) |
receive gifts, bequests, and property. |

(2) |
The arts board shall:
(a) |
act in an advisory capacity for the division; |
(b) |
appoint an arts collection committee as described in Section 9-6-303 to advise the division and the arts board regarding the works of art acquired and maintained under this part; and |
(c) |
with the concurrence of the director, approve the allocation of arts grant money and State of Utah Alice Merrill Horne Art Collection acquisition funding. |
