  • Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.

§ 1644. Witnesses may be examined separately

On the trial of a civil cause, in its discretion, upon the application of either party, the Superior Court may order the witnesses of the adverse party examined separately and apart from each other.
