A behavioral health facility shall use the criteria for admission developed by the American Society of Addiction Medicine for purposes of assessing a person for admission to such facility in consideration of (1) the services for which the facility is licensed, and (2) the appropriate services required for treatment of such person.

  • Behavioral health facility: means any facility that provides mental health services to persons eighteen years of age or older or substance use disorder services to persons of any age in an outpatient treatment or residential setting to ameliorate mental, emotional, behavioral or substance use disorder issues.
