Terms Used In Florida Statutes 924.31

  • Affirmed: In the practice of the appellate courts, the decree or order is declared valid and will stand as rendered in the lower court.
  • Oral argument: An opportunity for lawyers to summarize their position before the court and also to answer the judges' questions.
A judgment may be affirmed if the appellant fails to argue, but it shall not be reversed unless the appellant submits a written brief or makes oral argument.
