Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:2180.12

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Crisis receiving centers: means an agency, business, institution, society, corporation, person or persons, or any other group, licensed by the Louisiana Department of Health to provide crisis identification, intervention, and stabilization services for people in behavioral crisis. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:2180.12
  • Department: means the Louisiana Louisiana Department of Health. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:2180.12
  • person: includes a body of persons, whether incorporated or not. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 1:10

            As used in this Part:

            (1) “Crisis receiving centers” means an agency, business, institution, society, corporation, person or persons, or any other group, licensed by the Louisiana Department of Health to provide crisis identification, intervention, and stabilization services for people in behavioral crisis. Crisis receiving centers shall receive, examine, triage, refer, or treat people in behavioral health crisis.

            (2) “Department” means the Louisiana Louisiana Department of Health.
