  • commissioner: means the director of the department of labor and economic growth or a designee of the director. See Michigan Laws 456.522
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
    All departments, state agencies, public bodies corporate, committees, commissioners, or officers of this state, and any political subdivision of this state, so far as is compatible with their duties, shall give the commissioner or his or her designee any necessary assistance required by the commissioner in the performance of the duties of the commissioner. All departments, state agencies, public bodies corporate, committees, commissioners, or officers of this state, and any political subdivision of this state, shall provide the commissioner free access to any book, record, or document in their custody relating to the matters within the scope of the commissioner in the performance of his or her duties.
